Dog & Owner Fun Pool Hire

Make a splash with your dog in our Doggy Fun Pool!

We are pleased to offer you a chance to get into our pool with your dog

to have a splashing good time.

To enter the pool you must be over 130cm/4ft 3"tall and be able to swim and stand in 1.2m of water without the

use of a floatation aid. Please note that heights will be checked before entering the pool.

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool at all times. Please note that our staff member cannot be counted as the accompanying adult

Our pool offers a different form of stimulation and adventure for your dog and is perfect for exercise, burning off excess energy, weight loss, strengthening muscles, gaining confidence, relieving pain and just having a good time!

The Suddy Dog pool measures 6 meters by 3 meters and holds around 22,000 litres of heated water.

The pool is suitable for all sizes, from the tiniest Chihuahua to the tallest Irish Wolf Hound. As long as they are over the age of 4 months and fully vaccinated they are welcome to come for a swim.

We recommend a maximum of 2 large dogs for the 60 minute swim session. If you wish to bring any more dogs, please contact the centre.

More than one adult is welcome to get into the pool. We would recommend for big dogs a ratio of 1 dog to 1 adult.

Although your dog(s) will get a quick wash and dry after being in the pool, we cannot guarantee your dog(s) will be completely dry. Please bring a towel with you.

If you fancy giving your dog a spa treatment after, feel free to book one of our self service dog wash pods and receive £5.00 off your pod hire.

Please note your session time is inclusive of the owners getting changed before and after entering the pool. You must be ready to leave by the end of your session time as a new session will be starting. Please note a surcharge will apply if you run over your time slot.

Dog & Owner Fun Pool FAQ's

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We recommend you bring a change of clothes and a towel each for you and your dog.

What happens during my 1 hour session?

Your session time includes rinsing your dog down in the shower and fitting it with a life jacket before it enters the pool. Please note, excessively dirty dogs and dogs with long nails will not be allowed to enter the pool. Your changing time is also included in your 1 hour session. After their swim, a member of staff will give your dogs a quick wash and dry. If you are booking the Dog & Owner Fun Pool Hire session because your dog is reactive and would feel more comfortable with you showering them, then you must leave yourself time to do this before getting changed.

Will a staff member be in the pool with me and my dog?

No. A hydrotherapist/lifeguard will not be in the pool. A member of staff will be in the room for Health and Safety purposes and to offer advice, however they are not responsible for swimming your dog.

What should I wear in the pool?

We recommend wearing a long sleeve top and swimming shorts to help prevent dog scratches and a pair of water shoes. If you have a wetsuit you are welcome to wear it.

Do you have changing facilities?

We do have facilities available for you to change, however, we do not have showers. Please bath or shower at home afterwards. Please bring a towel to dry off after the session. Please note your changing time is included in your session time.

Should I feed my dog prior to the swimming session?

Please make sure your dog has not eaten for at least 2 hours before swimming and allow at least 2 hours after swimming before giving them a full meal.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

As The Suddy Dog has lots of dogs visiting throughout the day, it is important that your dog is vaccinated. If your dogs vaccines are not up to date you can still bring them along, however, it is at your own risk.

Will there be other dogs in the pool area when my dog is swimming?

The only dogs that will be in the pool room are those that you have booked in for the session.

*Please note that while swimming is a fun activity and exercise for most dogs, there are some breeds you need to be aware of that struggle in the water due to their physical characteristics. These include dogs with flat faces and large and heavy heads. Unfortunately we will be unable to accept brachycephalic dogs without a vet approval*
