Doggy Fun Pool
Make a splash in our Doggy Fun Pool!

Perfect for exercise, burning off excess energy, weight loss,
strengthening muscles, gaining confidence, relieving pain and just having a
good time!

The Suddy Dog pool measures 6 meters by 3 meters and holds around 22,000 litres of heated water.
The pool is suitable for all sizes, from the tiniest Chihuahua to the tallest Irish Wolf Hound. As long as they are over the age of 4 months and fully vaccinated they are welcome to come for a swim.

Although the pool is for fun, it gives the same health benefits as veterinary hydrotherapy. Some of the paw-some health benefits to swimming are that it will improve your dog's cardio-vascular level of fitness, it is a non weight bearing form of exercise and because the pool is heated it helps reduce inflammation, stiffness and helps to increase blood circulation. It is also a great way of burning off energy and tiring your dog out as a 30 minute swim is equivalent to a 2 hour walk.

When you book a session, your dog(s) will have exclusive use of the pool. You will be right up beside the pool edge to interact with your dog(s). A member of staff will be in the pool to ensure your dogs safety whilst they play and have a splashing good time.

Dont worry if you are unsure if your doggo can swim or not. We provide life jackets to ensure your dogs' safety plus our team will make sure your dogs are happy and safe throughout the session.

Online we offer bookings for up to 3 dogs, if you want to book in more than 3 dogs please contact the centre.

Although we give your dog(s) a quick wash and dry after being in the pool, we cannot guarantee your dog(s) will be completely dry.

If you fancy giving your dog a spa treatment after, feel free to book one of our self service dog wash pods and receive £5.00 off your pod hire.
Doggy Fun Pool FAQ's
Do I need to bring anything with me?
All you need to bring with you is your dog. However, you may wish to bring a towel with you as your dog may still be slightly wet after the session.

How long is a swimming session?
Depending on the number of dogs you have booked your session for, please allow 30 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. This includes preparing your dog for their session and a quick rinse down afterwards.

Why choose hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy provides a therapeutic treatment in warm water which helps to increase circulation, improve mobility, lose weight, build muscle and relieve pain without excessive strain. It also is lots of fun!

How does the hydrotherapy work?
Because your dog will be exercising without bearing weight or with reduced loading of limbs, they can work their joints without the damage or associated pain caused by walking, running etc. Swimming also develops the muscles, strengthens the heart and respiratory system and improves general fitness levels.

Should I feed my dog prior to the hydrotherapy session?
Please make sure your dog has not eaten for at least 2 hours before swimming and allow at least 2 hours after swimming before giving them a full meal.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
As The Suddy Dog has lots of dogs visiting throughout the day, it is important that your dog is vaccinated. If your dogs vaccines are not up to date you can still bring them along, however, it is at your own risk.

Does my dog need to be an experienced swimmer?
No, not at all. Some dogs can take a few sessions before they find their confidence and start to enjoy their swims. To make it a safe experience for your dog they will be wearing a life jacket, and will be closely supervised in the water by one of our pool staff.

Will there be other dogs in the pool area when my dog is swimming?
The only dogs that will be in the hydrotherapy room are those that you have booked in for the session.

Can I stay and watch my dog swim?
Absolutely! A member of staff will be in the pool with your dog but you can stand poolside to watch. Be warned, you may get wet!

Do you offer rehabilitation sessions?
The Suddy Dog pool is for fun and recreational use only. We offer swimming sessions for fun, learning to swim, weight loss and general fitness.

*Please note that while swimming is a fun activity and exercise for most dogs, there are some breeds you need to be aware of that struggle in the water due to their physical characteristics. These include dogs with flat faces and large and heavy heads. Unfortunately we will be unable to swim brachycephalic dogs without a vet approval*
